Job Title: After School Instructor
Status: Part-Time
Report To: School Age Care Coordinator, School Age Care Director
Salary: Based upon experience
Essential Job Responsibilities and Results:
PROGRAM
• Monitor the day-to-day after school operations.
• Assign children to specific groups and areas of interest.
• Develop a daily program agenda for after school students to follow.
• Set up and maintain classroom stations.
• Facilitate and participate in physical fitness activities
DAILY OPERATIONS
• Ensure safety and proper usage of equipment.
• Communicate with School Age Care Director about complaints and problems that may arise.
• Reinforce disciplinary policies and procedures.
• Provide information regarding after school operations and serve as a liaison between parents and School Age Care Director.
• Operate the after school program according to established YWCA policies and procedures.
• Conduct daily grounds check to ensure safety of all children and staff members before going out side.
• Assist students with homework assignments and other special projects
• Ensure that facility is kept clean.
• Prepare a monthly lesson plan.
• Prepare snacks for children to enjoy.
• Provide assistants as needed to school personnel.
• Communicate with parents about any problems involving their child.
• Monitor children during recreational activities.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
• Provide tutoring and Mentoring for after school children.
• Evaluate specific areas of program improvement.
• Educate parents and children on YWCA policies and procedures.
STATISTICS AND REPORTS
• Prepare weekly attendance sheets and payments.
• Prepare weekly injury reports.
• Prepare weekly payment journals.
• Prepare bi-weekly time sheets in a timely manner.

Afterschool locations are throughout Atlanta and Dekalb Public School Systems, and Atlanta Housing Authority Communities. Substitute postions are also available.

Job Qualifications
• Experience in working with children.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Professional, responsible, and punctual.
Job Purpose
To monitor after school program, which includes tutoring students, assisting with homework, over seeing recreational activities and solving daily after school issues.
