2011 "Fun-lanthropy" Gala at the Georgia Aquarium - Wednesday, September 21st

              It’s not a fairytale...it’s the YWCA’s Open Your Purse event, and it’s all about purses, passion and empowerment.

Open Your Purse to the YWCA is a silent and live auction to benefit the YWCA and the Women in Transition program. It has been called an evening of  “guilt-free shopping at its finest,” as attendees know that their fun and fabulous purchases can have a life-changing impact on Atlanta women and children. Last year's event was a tremendous success with more than 425 women helping to raise over $135,000.

Now in its seventh year, Open Your Purse event was the first of its kind in Atlanta, and has seen increasing support over time. In addition to featuring amazing purses donated by Atlanta’s most fashionable boutiques, designers and retailers, the event recognizes a graduate of the YWCA’s Women in Transition program with the Power of the Purse Award. The honoree is an exceptional woman who has completed the 18-month supportive housing program and overcame incredible odds to achieve success for herself and her family.

Exhilarating, emotional and entertaining, Open Your Purse is truly THE not-to-miss event of the season.
