A Friend of YWCA Greater Atlanta

More than 100 members of the Academy of Women Achievers have contributed and stewarded more than $6,000,000 to the revitalization of the Phillis Wheatley Westside Campus.

Phillis Wheatley

Westside Campus

The Phillis Wheatley Westside Campus of YWCA Greater Atlanta will create a compassionate center for women, girls, and families, providing vital programs, resources, and opportunities for new careers and jobs. YWCA Greater Atlanta will expand signature programs to bring an Early Learning Academy and Digital Skills Academy to the site. Our collaborators have been key to the vision of a revitalized community center focused on women, girls, and families.

Morehouse School of Medicine will provide onsite medical care access on a regular schedule, Families First will provide onsite service navigation on a regular schedule, and Chris 180 will provide mental health access and services on a regular schedule – all at the Phillis Wheatley campus. The building plan includes private consultation and medical screening rooms which will be available to these collaborators. YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s relationship with us will include directing those who seek access to services at their headquarters across the street to us as a service access point. Westside Future Fund is our “amplifier” and our partnership with them is expected to grow as we determine the needs of the community – particularly legacy Westside residents who are accessing home ownership support through their initiatives.

As we move toward the opening of the Phillis Wheatley Westside Campus, we anticipate serving at least 500 more women, girls, and their families in the first year, and impacting the lives of even more women, girls, and their families thereafter, with the support of our community partners.

With your support, transformation is possible. Here are tangible examples of your gift in action toward sustainability and programming at Phillis Wheatley:

  • $100,000

Your gift of $100,000 supports the work of one professional healthcare worker in the Morehouse School of Medicine Clinic, enabling the Clinic to reach an average of 200 women per year over three years.

  • $75,000

Your gift of $75,000 sponsors one Digital Skills Training Cohort of 15 women per year for three years. Each Cohort receives 30 hours of highly personalized instruction in technical skills, professional development mentorship, and personal laptops to complete the coursework and use in their careers ahead.

  • $45,000

Your gift of $45,000 funds one therapeutic peer group a year for three years with a CHRIS 180 counselor, providing trauma-informed therapy in a welcoming, community-based setting.

  • $30,000

Your gift of $30,000 supplements tuition for one child for three years in the Early Learning Center, making full-time, educational daycare within a safe and caring environment an option for a mother in need of support.

  • $15,000

Your gift of $15,000 enables a Families First Navigator to work directly with one family to provide connections, resources, and referrals for needs-based services over a three-year period.
